Chen Yung Ling


Hailed as one of the gifted young violinists of her generation in Hong Kong, Ling has set her performance footprint across Asia, Europe and the North America. As a soloist, chamber player and concertmistress, she has performed in renowned concert hall including the Lincoln Centre, The Carnegie Hall, St. Martin-in-the Fields and more, and was featured on local and International music channels, interviewed and performed live on RTHK and the BBC.

Ling attained FTCL at 13 and was appointed as the youngest faculty member of Violin Studies at Yip’s Children and Performing Art Centre at 19. She is an experienced teacher with a high number of outstanding students accredited Diploma, Licentiate and Fellowship by Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College London with Distinction. Her students are also consecutive winners of local and international competition including the Hong Kong School Music Festival, the Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition, and the Japan - Hong Kong International Music Competition. Ling’s students frequently receive music scholarship from schools abroad including UK Harrow School, Charterhouse, Wycombe Abbey, Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra and more. In 2017, Ling was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award by the China Artist Association.  

Ling is the former Assistant Director at Liang’s Studio and currently holds the position of Executive Director at Wings of Music (Hong Kong). She also holds the candidacy of Master of Science in Finance at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Candidates are expected to play at least to the level of ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent. 
Completion of a graded exam however is not required.
