Malvina Tam was born in Hong Kong and develops her passion in dance at the early age. She received a BFA (honours) degree at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), majoring in contemporary dance (2005-2008). She was awarded a full grant from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, one of the most prestigious undergraduate scholarship schemes for outstanding local students. She has toured with the academy performing in Europe and Singapore.
Malvina pursued her performing career that made her moved to London in 2009 until 2011. She has worked with Clod Ensemble(UK), Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company(UK), Rhiannon Faith:dancingtheatre(UK), Tempered Body Dance Theatre(UK) and London College of Fashion with Anton Mirto(IT). She has also made her debut commercial appearance with Love Amongst Ruins in two of their music videos “So Sad(Fade)” and “Alone”.
Malvina is currently a full-time dancer with City Contemporary Dance Company that she joins in Jan 2013. During her times in the company, she has worked with many renowned choreographers such as Willy Tsao, Helen Lai, Dominic Wong, Noel Pong, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Ina Christel Johannessen and Sang JiJia. She received her Master of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014.
