Alston Ng



Alston Ng is an active choral conductor in Hong Kong. He was the choirmaster of the Hong Kong University Students’ Union Choir, conducting the choir to perform concerts in various styles of music, including Chinese art songs, motets, gospel music, oratorios, musical songs and a cappella in contemporary style etc.


In 2008, Alston was invited to be the Music Director and Conductor of the Sichuan Fundraising Concert organized by the Hong Kong University Students’ Union Choir, a concert joined by renowned soprano Yuki Ip, baritone Albert Lim and the Chamber Orchestra for the Reconstruction of Sichuan Fundraising Concert, performing Faure’s Requiem to raise funds for the victims in Sichuan.


Alston also conducted different school choirs and won various awards and prizes in Hong Kong School Music Festival and other international choir competitions. He was the coach of the Suen Chi Sun Hall Choir, HKU and is currently the conductor of church choir at The Church of the Epiphany.


Alston also participated in the Taipei International Choral Festivals and studied choral conducting briefly with Gabor Hollerung, Fred Sjoberg and Johnny Ku.


Alston performed with the Learners’ Chorus and Hong Kong Young People’s Chorus. He studied choral conducting under Apollo Wong, singing under Alert Lim and piano under Alfred Wong.
