HKFO School Ensembles
Ensemble Training and Performance Training
As a premium performance institution, HKFO School of Music stresses on rigorous, high-intensity, and quality ensemble and performance training. A core component of ensemble training is to drastically improve the student's musicality, sight-reading, and communication skills through intensive training sessions among the peer-group. The student is expected to develop a deeper interest in the instrument through regular and habitual practice with peer-musicians of similar level and age, so to "learn how to learn" through positive reinforcement among peers. HKFO's Junior Strings and Junior Winds are led by a stellar ensemble of Hong Kong's top pedagogues, namely Tsai Loo and Martin Choy and their teams respectively.
High-flying members of HKFO Junior Strings and Winds may be invited to perform in the "Hong Kong - Finland Cultural Exchange Youth Concert" with world-renowned musicians including Jan Söderblom, Concertmaster of the Helsinki Philharmonic, and cellist Trey Lee. Learning from the best in the world, students are expected to develop confidence and stage presence that are essential to becoming an outstanding musician and an exceptional human being with international insights.
